What you are getting
This is the visuals-only build: rebuilt weather, textures and effects, plus the 16 optional ReShade presets. It makes no changes to the police system, weapons, population and pedestrian AI, vehicles, handling or physics. If you wanted those too, you want the full mod instead.
While that downloads
1. Check you have the right version of GTA V
Redux only works with GTA V Legacy, build 1.0.3889.0 (Steam or Rockstar Warehouse). It does not work with Rockstar’s 2025 Enhanced Edition re-release, because OpenIV does not support Enhanced.
2. Make room on disk
You need roughly 70 GB free while installing, not 3.23 GB. OpenIV builds a
separate modded copy of GTA V’s large archive files in the mods folder.
3. Get OpenIV ready
Install OpenIV and its ASI Loader, and disable BattlEye for Story Mode. Both are covered in the full installation guide.
4. Verify the file when it finishes
Compare the checksum linked above against the downloaded package:
certutil -hashfile GTA5_REDUX_Visuals_v1.19.oiv SHA256
If you used the torrent instead, your client already verified every piece
against the .torrent.
Before you go online
Mods are only safe in Story Mode. Never load Redux, or any mod, in GTA Online. Remove or disable the mod-loader files and re-enable BattlEye before going online, or you risk a ban.
