GTA 5 Redux only works with the Legacy version of GTA V (Steam or Rockstar Warehouse). It does not work with Rockstar’s 2025 Enhanced Edition re-release, because OpenIV does not support Enhanced. Redux content installs into a separate mods folder, but you must still remove or disable mod-loader files and re-enable BattlEye before opening GTA Online.

The 16 optional ReShade presets on their own. These are already included in the full and visuals packages above - this is only a separate re-download if you want to reinstall or swap presets without running the full installer again.

Verify your download

Each direct download has a matching checksum file. Download the full-mod SHA-256 checksum or the visuals-only SHA-256 checksum, then check the downloaded package on Windows:

certutil -hashfile GTA5_REDUX_v1.19.oiv SHA256

Compare the result to the value in the .sha256 file. If you download via torrent, your client verifies every piece against the .torrent automatically, so no separate check is needed.

System requirements

  • A legitimate copy of Grand Theft Auto V Legacy (Steam or Rockstar Warehouse - pirated copies are not supported)
  • A PC that comfortably runs vanilla GTA V at a good frame rate
  • Around 70 GB of free disk space while installing. OpenIV creates a separate modded copy of large GTA V archive files in the mods folder; the 3.23 GB download size is not the final space used on disk.

  • BattlEye disabled for Story Mode (covered in the install guide)

Redux improves the graphics, so expect roughly a 5–15 FPS drop compared to vanilla, depending on the ReShade preset you choose.

How to install

Follow the full step-by-step installation guide. In short: install OpenIV and the ASI Loader, disable BattlEye, then install the .oiv into the mods folder with OpenIV’s Package Installer.

Mods are only safe in Story Mode. Never load Redux (or any mod) in GTA Online - re-enable BattlEye and remove the mod loader files before going online, or you risk a ban.
